JUHANNUS - Midsummer Fest 2008
Finnish Juhannus-juhla in Parnell, Paddington
Finnish Juhannus - Midsummer party was held at The Paddington in Parnell on the 22nd of June
We had over fifty people, both Finns and friends,
to attend the midday lunch. We kicked off with getting into
the mood by watching Eurovision 2006 song contest and the
Finnish group Lordi winning the contest and following it up with
this year's performance by Terasbetoni.
After lunch we had the most amazing raffle with awesome prizes
through donations. A huge thank you to
Nokia,
Galtons homeware
store in Parnell,
Trilogy skincare products
and Klaukkala Investments.
Please check out the links on our website for their great product range.
After Raffle we had an exciting Ice-Hockey game between Finland
and Sweden in the World Championships in May 2008. Finland won
Sweden with an impressive 4-0 result. Bronze medal for Finland!
Thank you to Ari's brother Kalervo from Finland for sending this
DVD. We thoroughly enjoyed the thrill of watching it, when goal
after goal appeared for Finland on the scoreboard. The Corporate
box had a big wall size screen and the room and walls were shaking
from the supporting screams every time Finland scored.
